Director, Contracting & Credentialing - Morristown, NJ

This position will be located in our Executive Office in Morristown, NJ.  The individual will be responsible for new business development, maximization and maintenance of existing managed care contracts, along with payer relationships and credentialing. This position will be responsible for ensuring profitability through its existing and future contracts. Staff management of current and future staff in contracting & credentialing department. Ensure contracts meet state federal and local regulatory guidelines.

Scope

  • Provides leadership, oversight, and acts as a resource for managed Medicare, managed Medicaid, VA and commercial insurance products for field and support personnel.

  • Supports business development efforts for all new managed care opportunities

  • Analyzes current and potential managed care contracts and reimbursement schedules.                    

  • Negotiates, drafts, proofreads, and finalizes value based contracts and other legal documents

  • Drafts and reviews contractual documents to ensure adherence to company policies, specifications, and good business practices. Crafts special clauses and other terms/conditions as required.

  • On all standard and nonstandard contracts, provides redlined recommendations.

  • Provide advice to management on contract matters that may have significantly adverse legal implications (i.e., contracts with non-standard or potentially high risk terms/conditions); provide guidance on contract matters as needed to members of the Management Team, Sales & Marketing, and the field.

  • Advises management of contractual rights, obligations and terms

  • Compiles and analyzes data regarding currect managed care contracts, payor trends, and manage new contract implementation and educates to regarding new contract requirements and procedures.

  • Responds to inquiries and resolves coordinates resolution of contract issues internally and with external payors/vendors concerns related to contracting.

  • Reviews, creates, revises and implements managed care contracts and procedures.

  • Creates a strategy for monitoring and negotiating and educating as needed regarding new contracts, products or changes to existing contracts.

  • Coordinates and offers guidance for the development of clinical and business management systems for compliance with company policies, procedures, and best practices, as well as for Medicare, Medicaid, and ABC/BOC compliance.

  • Remain actively engaged with Area Vice Presidents and the field, Sales & Marketing, and other management teams as necessary to be effective.

  • Prepare and coordinate business correspondence with payors, and maintain accurate and complete contract files and records for the company in accordance with policies and procedures.

  • Communicate effectively, efficiently, and courteously on the telephone.

  • Ensure final contract documents are consistent with agreements reached at negotiations.        

  • Supports accurate claims and billing through review of write-offs and education of contract management efforts.                                                                                        

Job Requirements: 

  • Demonstrate current knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job.

  • Excellent contract drafting skills and negotiation experience with a wide variety of commercial and managed care transactions.

  • Must have the ability to make sound business judgments, handle multiple contractual activities with a short turn-around time, and work independently as well as part of a team.

  • Strong knowledge of contract negotiations in healthcare.

  • Ability to handle sensitive situations tactfully yet firmly, to be assertive without being adversarial and take unpopular positions when necessary while maintaining trust and credibility.

  • Knowledge of medical practice policies, procedures, and referrals.

Education and Experience: 

  • Juris Doctor (JD) or MBA, Bachelor’s degree in health or business administration or equivalent experience

  • 5 years experience in managed care contracting.

  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products.

  • 5 years managed care contracting experience. Microsoft Office proficiency: 2 years.



Professional Recruiter — Morristown, New Jersey

This position will develop the standards, practices and policies for appropriately and effectively recruiting talented, highly skilled professionals for the company through a variety of unique marketing and sourcing processes. This position will work with all departments in an effort to build accurate and well-defined job descriptions for every position in the company in order to source, interview and select the most qualified candidates in all areas of our organization. The recruiter is responsible for interviewing, testing and referring applicants for all positions throughout the company. The recruiter must possess considerable skill in interviewing techniques, a good knowledge of all positions, an understanding of the company's organizational structure as well as an extensive knowledge of personnel policy and procedure and federal and state laws regarding employment practices. This position will work in partnership with the human resources team to ensure that the on boarding of an employee is appropriately conducted. The recruiter will provide interviewing techniques and instructional tools to the organization. The recruiter will conduct background checks, reference checks and exit interviews as required by the company’s practices.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop and maintain the standards, practices and policies for recruiting to include tracking of candidates, open positions and hired positions. 

  • Develops and maintains well-defined job descriptions for all positions in the company.

  • Works with the HR staff in determining appropriate salary guidelines for each position.

  • Ensures process of position justification requisitions and new hire requests.

  • Coordinates with hiring manager(s) to determine best recruiting process for position(s).

  • Acts as liaison with area employment agencies and advertising agencies.

  • Develops creative marketing / advertising sourcing tools.

  • Screens and interviews applicants.

  • Coordinates appropriate background and drug testing for candidates.

  • Conducts reference check verification.

  • Extends verbal offers.

  • Maintains employee referral program.

  • Conducts orientation of new employees.

  • Follows up with the related clerical aspects of employment, such as completing of health, employment and insurance forms, notifying the department of employee's starting date and the requisition the employee is filling, etc.

  • Completes weekly report on employment activity (open positions, filled, terminated).

  • Conducts exit interviews with terminating employees.

  • Completes unemployment claims and provides company representation at unemployment hearings. 

  • Provide interviewing techniques to the company interviewers.

Qualifications:

  •  Bachelor's degree, preferably in human resources.

  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential.

  • 3 years of recruiting experience

  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.

  • Relationship management expertise.

  • Team player.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, HRIS Systems, Indeed, LinkedIn, Website Administration, Skype, Go To Meeting, Webinar Environments.
